Stock screener

A stock screener is a tool that lets investors filter thousands of down to a shortlist based on chosen criteria, such as valuation ratios, sector, , or growth rates. It is generally used as a starting point for finding candidates worth researching further, not as a final investment decision on its own.

Screeners are useful for narrowing down a huge universe of quickly, but the output is only as good as the criteria chosen, and a passing a screen still requires deeper research into the actual business before it makes sense to invest.
