Why this exists

The stock market is one of the few places left where a regular person can actually build real wealth over time, and we're genuinely bullish on that. The problem is that most investing content doesn't teach you how to use that opportunity, it just hands you a call and takes the thinking away from you.

The Glossary exists to do the opposite. This is retail for retail: the kind of thinking that used to live behind expensive institutional research, rebuilt at a price a regular investor can actually afford. The goal isn't to tell you what to buy. It's to teach you how to think about it yourself, a skill that's yours to keep, not ours to keep selling you.

How it works

Nobody, including us, knows for certain whether a stock goes up or down tomorrow. That's fine, that was never the game. The real skill is finding situations where the potential upside meaningfully outweighs the downside, and every article lays out a real bull case and a real bear case side by side, instead of a prediction, so you can do that weighing yourself. We're not here to be right on every call, we're here to make money over time, and those are two different goals that get confused constantly in this industry.

None of this comes from one fixed playbook or a textbook. It started rooted in classic value investing and evolved from there, real money, real mistakes, because markets change and dogma doesn't adapt with them. The Glossary exists to shortcut that years-long process for you: compressed into a way of thinking you can start using today, instead of having to earn it the slow way.

Alongside all of that, any financial term you don't recognize, in an article or inside another definition, is clickable, so you can look it up without losing your place or leaving the page. Those definitions connect to each other too: follow one into the next for as long as you want, then jump straight back to where you started. Nothing here assumes you already know the jargon going in.
