Fractional shares
A fractional share is a portion of a single share of , smaller than one whole share, that some now allow investors to buy directly. This lets an investor put a fixed dollar amount, say fifty dollars, into a regardless of what one full share costs.
Fractional shares make it easier for investors with smaller amounts of money to build a , including buying into expensive that would otherwise require hundreds or thousands of dollars for just one whole share.
