Annual general meeting

Also known as: AGM

An annual general meeting, usually shortened to AGM, is a meeting a publicly listed company is required to hold once a year where vote on matters such as electing board members and approving executive pay. Any is generally entitled to attend, either in person or, increasingly, virtually.

The AGM is one of the main formal checkpoints where can hold management and the board accountable, ask questions directly, and vote on proposals. Most individual investors do not attend, but the meeting and its outcomes are typically publicly disclosed afterward.
